Civil Engineering Intern (On-site)
Job Description
Work at the most complex mass transportation system in the world and be a key contributor as civil engineering intern.
- Support engineering activities within the Track Engineering office
- Assist in the design and construction of railway projects of varied size and complexity, primarily focusing on trackwork and track switches
- Adhere to standards and procedures throughout design and construction processes
- Perform surveys using topographical instruments to gather necessary data
- Draft designs using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software
- Develop contract specifications and reports related to track engineering projects
- Provide field technical support by conducting visual inspections
- Create construction drawings as needed for project implementation
- Possess the ability to drive in New York City to facilitate site visits and inspections
- Four-year college degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- One year of experience in Surveying using Total Station and Drafting using CADD (MicroStation preferred).
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office Word, Excel, and ADOBE.
- Knowledge of Primavera 6 (P6) would be helpful.
Valid New York State Driver License.
Normal Work Week:
Monday- Friday. 35 Hours/Week and as required.
Normal work hours are 8:00am - 4:00pm or 10:00pm to 6:00am.
Some weekend work may be required.
