GIS Mapper (On-site)
Job Description
Our client is seeking a skilled GIS Mapper to perform assignments related to the recording and production of information associated with the construction, operation, and maintenance of Utility Systems. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of GIS experience, either through school or work, and will be responsible for maintaining the GIS connected model, performing analysis, and resolving data conflicts, among other duties.
Key Responsibilities:

GIS Data Management:
- Maintain the GIS connected model using information from various sources such as work management systems, as-built construction drawings, work orders, and field reports.
- Perform analysis and queries to compile data, and prepare reports, tabulations, charts, and maps using asset information from the connected model and other data sources.

Data Production and Maintenance:
- Produce standard prints and ad-hoc plots for field requests containing specific information derived from the connected model.
- Maintain service point data and manage the relationship to feeding source transformers.
- Track the lifespan of utility asset data, including history, inspections, and attachments.

Problem-Solving:
- Resolve conflicting data, mapping, connectivity, and land issues through office or field investigations.
- Perform GIS work for major projects such as facility relocations, load rearrangement, and new business.

Office Operations:
- Operate automated office equipment including printers, plotters, duplication machines, facsimile, and scanners.
- File records and data related to work activities.
- Perform manual or computer-aided drafting.

Field Operations:
- Operate a car or light truck as needed.
- Assist other employees in plant work, in the field, or in the office.
- Perform other similar skilled work as required.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of GIS experience (school or work-related).
- Ability to acquire thorough knowledge of:
- The company’s business applications.
- Material, equipment, and apparatus used in the work.
- The Utilities’ Transmission and Distribution systems.
- Various operating and maintenance handbooks and manuals relevant to the work, including safety rules and practices.
- Willingness to work at various locations based on business needs and workload.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicles in the state of New Jersey.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other Windows applications.

Pay Range: $28.00 - $31.75 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
