We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work onsite at our client's DTE Fermi Nuclear Power Plant. The successful candidate will join a team of engineers and designers focused on preparing modification packages for mechanical systems within the nuclear power industry.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop design modification packages for mechanical systems at the nuclear power plant.
• Perform engineering calculations, including hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing, HVAC sizing, heat load analysis, and pressure loss calculations.
• Create mechanical design and procurement specifications.
• Prepare engineering drawings such as Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID), General Arrangement (GA), Equipment Plan, and Isometric drawings.
• Develop material and work hour estimates, along with engineering and design schedules.
• Exercise sound engineering judgment to assess complex issues and ensure compliance with codes and design criteria.
• Collaborate with plant stakeholders to define project scope/requirements and support construction, implementation, and startup activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in the nuclear field.
• Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.

Preferred Qualifications:

• NANTeL Certified in the Nuclear Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-01).
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in the US.
• Experience with fluid flow software (AFT FATHOM or equivalent).
• Experience with Fire Protection and Detection Systems.

Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 (Depending on experience and qualifications), plus benefits and PTO.
