Operations Leader (On-site)
Job Description
Are you a dynamic and motivated leader with a strong background in manufacturing and operations? We are currently assisting a valued client in filling the position of Operations Leader.
As an Operations Leader, you play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence and meeting business requirements by effectively leading the manufacturing hourly workforce. You will be the first level of elevation for the team, overseeing day-to-day operations to optimize product flow and exceed internal and external customer expectations. The ideal candidate will excel at bringing out the best in employees, navigating challenges, and serving as a "People Manager" to unlock the untapped potential of the team. Safety, adherence to work instructions, and continuous individual and team growth are paramount in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the manufacturing hourly workforce to ensure optimal product flow.
- Own and take pride in being a "People Manager" to maximize team potential.
- Ensure all employees work safely and according to instructions, fostering a culture of growth and development.
- Mentor and coach team members to help them understand the broader strategy, vision, and "why" behind their tasks.
- Communicate effectively with team members, shift hand-offs, customers, program managers, and other stakeholders.
- Interface with relevant operations departments to address and communicate changes impacting assigned tasks.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment in decision-making.
- Prepare reports and documents using computer skills.
- Make decisions using sound judgment, adhering to policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Analyze, evaluate, develop, and implement manufacturing plans to meet time requirements and schedules.
Skills Required:
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Sound interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in utilizing computer skills for report preparation.
- Decision-making with compliance to policies, procedures, and laws.
- Analyze, evaluate, and develop manufacturing plans.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 4 years of related work experience in production/manufacturing/operations.
- Direct supervision of hourly workforce.
- Leadership in a team-based manufacturing environment.
- Decision-making with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools.
Education Required:
- Associate degree or equivalent with at least 4 years of related experience.
- OR Bachelor's degree in an appropriate business or technical field with four (4) years of related experience.
