Real-Time Embedded Firmware Engineer II (Hybrid)
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Software Engineer II to join our client's team and contribute to various software development and testing projects. As a Software Engineer II, you will be involved in software requirements analysis, design, implementation, documentation, integration, troubleshooting, and verification testing. We currently have openings for both software developers and software testers, offering exciting opportunities for individuals passionate about embedded software and system functionality.
- Develop, maintain, upgrade, and port embedded product software or product support software to enhance project/system functionality.
- Collaborate within the software project team and across other engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Systems.
- Ensure technical approaches align with established engineering principles and practices.
Skills Required:
- For Developers: Object-oriented design, C++ coding, and unit testing of embedded software.
- For Testers: Requirements-based software verification and traceability.
- Proficiency in using version control and issue tracking tools.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in real-time embedded software development and/or software testing.
Experience Preferred:
- Experience developing and troubleshooting comms, device drivers, I/O, etc. (software developers).
- Experience using NI TestStand (software testers).
- Familiarity with weapon systems, munitions, and/or combat vehicle functionality and capability.
- Experience using GitLab or other CI/CD tools.
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
