Job Description

We are seeking talented individuals with a flair for real-time, embedded software development to fill an opening for our esteemed client. As a Software Engineer I, you will be at the forefront of planning and executing various tasks spanning software requirements analysis, architecture, implementation, documentation, integration, troubleshooting, and testing. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in a dynamic environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Undertake basic engineering tasks including design, development, analysis, and testing within assigned project segments, ensuring adherence to cost, quality, schedule, and performance parameters.
  • Apply foundational engineering principles and techniques to project components, contributing to the overall technical objectives.
  • Craft and revise technical documentation, and offer insights for technical papers or presentations.
  • Conduct basic technical analysis, testing, and evaluation using specialized equipment or computer programs.
  • Interpret design specifications, drawings, and test results to ensure compliance with engineering standards and product requirements.
  • Foster productive relationships with clients to address technical challenges and implement solutions.
  • Stay updated with relevant engineering disciplines, industry practices, and emerging trends.
  • Uphold a safe work environment and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with supervisors for personal and professional development.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in Linux environment.
  • Strong understanding of Software Design, Development, and Testing Principles.
  • Working knowledge of the Software Life Cycle.
  • System-level perspective for comprehensive problem-solving.

Skills Preferred:

  • Familiarity with embedded systems.
  • Experience with UML modeling and related tools.
  • Proficiency in Object-Oriented design and development, particularly in C++, Bash Script, and Python.
  • Knowledge of military and commercial design standards.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Bitbucket, Git, Confluence configuration management, and problem reporting tools.
  • Experience in data communication buses including Ethernet, CAN, RS-232/422.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Ethernet and CANbus.
  • Experience with National Instruments products like LabVIEW, Multisim, VeriStand, TestStand.
  • Development and support of high-fidelity software simulation models
  • Systems and software requirements analysis, including documentation.
  • Basic understanding of Cyber Security Concepts.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
