Senior Software Engineer (Hybrid), US Citizen Only, No C2C, security clearance
Job Description
Work at an elite aerospace defense contractor in a critical position as a software engineer.
- Plan and execute a range of software tasks encompassing requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, documentation, integration, and software verification testing.
- Develop, maintain, upgrade, and port embedded product software and/or product support software to enhance and support project/system functionality.
- Demonstrate software design expertise and problem-solving skills in embedded software development.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering teams from various disciplines.
- Ensure technical approach aligns with established engineering principles and practices.
- Ensure product outcomes meet customer needs and comply with company technical, system, performance, process, and quality requirements.
Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- Proficiency in real-time embedded software development principles.
- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented software design.
- Familiarity with version control and issue tracking tools.
- Active Secret Clearance
Skills Preferred:
- Exposure to architectural level software design.
- Familiarity with weapon systems, munitions, and/or combat vehicle functionality and capability.
Experience Required:
- 4 – 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proven experience in C++ programming.
Experience Preferred:
- Passion for real-time embedded software development.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages and environments.
- Experience in developing and troubleshooting communications and IO interfaces.
- Integration experience with real-time operating systems such as vxWorks and Linux/Unix derivatives.
- Familiarity with tools like Magic Draw, Enterprise Architect, or similar Model-Based Engineering tools.
- Experience with GitLab or other CI/CD tools.
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
Education Preferred:
- Training in real-time embedded software development principles.
- Training in object-oriented software design and UML modeling.
