Test Equipment Design Engineer 3 (Hybrid)
Job Description
Join our client's team as a Test Engineer specializing in test hardware development to support our Integrated Test Engineering (ITE) organization. The ITE organization is dedicated to delivering reliable, customer-focused, and cost-effective test solutions integrated across all levels of production and engineering testing. As a Test Engineer, you will be involved in the entire program lifecycle, from bid and proposal through to product fielding and sustainment. Your role will encompass designing, developing, and deploying complex automated test systems, applications, and documentation, specifically focusing on testing Military Comms, Navigation, and Electronic Warfare equipment.
- Architect and design test equipment hardware/test stations for testing analog, digital, and RF circuit cards, hybrid modules, and higher-level systems and subsystems.
- Design and document Interface Test Adapters (ITAs), 19' test racks, custom test modules, and test cabling.
- Select commercial instrumentation for testing purposes.
- Develop, release, and update hardware documentation for test requirements, design, and operating procedures.
- Support factory production test stands design, integration, and problem resolution.
- Utilize test instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, PXI systems & I/O modules, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
- Familiarity with boundary scan tools, FPGA programming, and debugging is preferred.
- Collaborate with the team on design for test (DFT) analysis and generating Test Requirement Documents (TRDs) for military depot customers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in designing and developing test equipment hardware for automated test systems in production and engineering environments.
- Active Secret Clearance.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ITA design.
- Familiarity with FPGA programming and debugging.
- Experience in generating Test Requirement Documents (TRDs) for military depot customers.
