Job Description

We are currently seeking an Engineer to join our client's team. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for detailed analysis of power-purchase invoices, contract management, and supporting the Manager of Power Portfolios in improving vendor performance. The role demands a high degree of technical knowledge in areas such as solar, wind, and traditional combined cycle generation.

  • Perform detailed analysis of monthly power-purchase invoices to identify potential discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and work with counter parties to resolve disputed items.
  • Download and scrutinize meter data, working closely with the meter department and counter parties to address any discrepancies.
  • Review contracts to identify key rights and obligations, prepare contract summaries, and ensure all company and vendor requirements are defined and scheduled.
  • Participate in the complete contract management process, from defining the scope of work and negotiating contracts to contract awarding, maintenance, and closure.
  • Develop and maintain tracking systems and methodologies for accurate invoice processing and proposal evaluation.
  • Analyze facility operational data to determine compliance with contracts, including unit outages, unit heat rate, and other reported data.
  • Interact with various teams such as Legal, Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Tax, Enterprise Risk Management, Engineering, Planning, Survey & Mapping, etc., to resolve issues and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and demonstrate teamwork.
  • Perform job responsibilities based on established department procedures and controls.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
  • Understanding of how generating units operate and perform.
  • Experience in technical aspects of power generation, including solar, wind, and traditional combined cycle generators.
  • Demonstrated skills in contract management, invoicing, project management, and interconnect functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical skills, and a performance-driven attitude.
