Commercial Construction Superintendent (On-site)
Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Ensure regular, consistent, and prompt attendance.
- Actively engage and be physically present on assigned projects.
- Interpret commercial and residential plans and specifications, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Utilize strong problem-solving skills and prioritize tasks appropriately.
- Maintain positive relationships with subcontractors, owners, and co-workers.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and the ability to analyze projects swiftly and plan their execution.
- Meet physical demands of the job including lifting up to 50 lbs. and navigating construction sites.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Enforce all company safety standards at construction sites.
- Participate in pre-construction phases and monitor weekly schedules.
- Review project submittals and integrate information during construction.
- Manage as-built drawings and maintain client relationships.
- Coordinate submittals, utility companies, and AHJ inspections.
- Formulate and execute budgeting and scheduling recovery plans.
- Review and interpret plans and subcontract scopes of work.
- Coordinate with AHJ and participate in project meetings.
- Ensure quality installations and adherence to safety rules.
Work Environment:
- Primarily on construction sites, both indoors and outdoors.
- Some office time before and after projects.
- Interact with subcontractors, craft workers, and healthcare environments.
- Designated workspace for administrative tasks.
Physical Demands:
- Lift up to 50 lbs., navigate uneven terrain, and use ladders on job sites.
Travel:
- Extended stays near project locations may be required; accommodations and per diem provided.
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Healthcare Superintendent in General Contracting.
- Proficiency in project management programs and Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel, PDF readers, Outlook or similar).
- Knowledge of task timeframes, costs for change orders, and contract implementation during project progression.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- LEED (or equivalent) accreditation is advantageous.
Compensation:
- Salary commensurate with experience, within the range of $100,000 - $125,000 annually.
