Job Description

HEPCO Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Field Inspector specifically for pole inspections. The selected candidate will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the inspection and maintenance of utility poles. This position ensures that utility poles are safe, compliant with regulations, and in good working condition.

Position: Full Time
Location: Long Island, New York
Salary:80-90K (Depending on experience) 

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Supervision and Training:

  • Train and supervise a team of pole inspection field crew members.
  • Ensure the team is knowledgeable about safety protocols and inspection procedures.

Safety Management:

  • Oversee adherence to safety standards and protocols during inspections.
  • Report any safety incidents or personal issues to the project manager and relevant parties.

Data Collection and Analysis:

  • Oversee the collection of field data related to pole conditions.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data collected.
  • Maintain detailed daily and weekly reports of inspection activities.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure that the inspection team meets quality standards and production goals.
  • Conduct regular checks to verify that inspections are thorough and compliant with client standards.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Coordinate with management and other team members to ensure seamless operations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project managers and other team members.
  • Conduct meetings and briefings to update the team on procedures, safety protocols, and project status.

Procedure Updates:

  • Update and maintain data collection and inspection procedures as needed to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in general studies (bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • 7-9 years of experience in the field, with OSHA compliance.
  • 3-5 years of related experience supervising/managing a field team.
  • Familiarity with OSHA rules and safety standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate and solve problems, analyze data, write reports, and make presentations.
  • Ability to cope with deadlines, manage time, set priorities, define roles and responsibilities, and make decisions.
  • Ability to run meetings, motivate others, and interact with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication skills, including listening, speaking, and writing.
  • Ability to travel to the office daily.
