Administrative Assistant (On-site)
Job Description
We are seeking a temporary Administrative Assistant to support a busy legal office. The ideal candidate will have good to excellent proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.), the ability to scan and manage large volumes of documents, and the willingness to learn routine computerized tasks with instruction. An interest in the criminal justice system and attention to procedural detail is helpful but not required.
- Scan and process large volumes of incoming mail and distribute electronic copies to attorneys
- Archive and organize a substantial backlog of paper files
- Open new cases and close completed cases using NY Matters
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of office or administrative experience
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to handle large document volumes accurately and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical degree or certification program, and/or Bachelor’s degree
- Prior experience in a legal or government office (preferred but not required)
- Interest in the criminal justice system

Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
