Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Specialist Sr to support the design and drafting of electrical and mechanical components for complex electrical and electronic systems. This position plays a key role in developing technical drawings and specifications to support product development for military ground vehicles and similar platforms.

Position Overview:
The Electrical Design Specialist Sr will be responsible for the design and layout of wiring harnesses, schematic diagrams, cable assemblies, and mechanical housings related to electrical and electronic equipment. This role works closely with engineering teams and integrates CAD tools and modeling software to ensure high-quality, accurate designs in line with applicable standards.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform both electrical and mechanical design/drafting for electronic equipment and related systems
  • Design wiring harnesses and create wiring diagrams based on schematic inputs
  • Generate line replaceable unit (LRU) chassis and housing designs, including system packaging
  • Select electrical components such as connectors, wiring, shielding, and accessories
  • Produce schematic diagrams and CAD drawings for submission to internal teams or external vendors
  • Ensure all output is properly formatted for data management and configuration control systems
  • Support full development lifecycle from concept through documentation and verification

Required Skills:

  • Experience working on electrical/electronic systems for military ground vehicles
  • Proficiency in full-cycle design processes including concept development, review, and validation
  • Strong skills in CAD modeling and drafting, especially Creo Pro-Cable (minimum 2 years)
  • Experience with design and routing of wiring harnesses and cable assemblies
  • Understanding of MIL-STD-100, ANSI Y14.5/14.41, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with Siemens Capital Harness and logical data routing
  • Ability to create wiring harness schematics using Visio Technical
  • Familiarity with military electrical connector and cable specifications

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Creo design experience

Required Education:

  • Associate degree in a relevant technical discipline with at least 9 years of experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of electrical and electro-mechanical engineering tools is highly desirable

Pay Range: $57.00 - $62.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
