Assembler (On-site)
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Assembler to join our client's team! In this role, you will play a key part in their manufacturing processes by assembling and supporting the production of high-quality electronic and mechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble electronic components, assemblies, subassemblies, and modules using samples, visual aids, prints, wiring lists, diagrams, and process sheets.
- Work from engineering drawings, schematics, and system diagrams, following instructions for proper assembly techniques.
- Perform electronic and mechanical assembly operations such as wire termination, cable assemblies, value torquing, and wire harness installation.
- Work both independently and in a team environment under supervision to meet production goals.
- Collaborate with engineering and other team members to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Inspect, adjust, and certify assemblies for compliance with J-STD and IPC-610 standards.
- Disassemble and modify production subassemblies by following work plans and schematics.
- Support production and prototype projects by completing assembly tasks on electronic, electrical, and mechanical components such as modules, circuit boards, and connector panels.
- Work closely with Quality Control to ensure high-quality standards are met.
- Assist with resolving technical issues and addressing quality concerns in collaboration with engineering teams.
Skills Required:
- High School Diploma, Trade School, or GED, with 2 years of related experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to focus on tasks.
- Experience with microscopes and small device assembly, including wiring/soldering, and harness and cabling.
- Ability to read and interpret technical data like schematics, drawings, and blueprints.
- Understanding of electronics fundamentals (resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, etc.).
- Ability to work with production operations and collaborate across various departments.
- Ability to become solder certified.
Skills Preferred:
- Experience with soldering (wire, terminal, through-hole PCB, surface mount).
- Familiarity with conformal coating, potting, or encapsulation techniques.
- Knowledge of electronic mechanical assembly.
- Experience performing advanced soldering and electrical/electronic assembly tasks.
Experience Required:
- 2 years of related experience in assembly, preferably in electronics or mechanical systems.
- Experience with crimping tools and mechanical assembly operations.
- Ability to lift and carry objects as needed.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain ESD, Material Handling, and Solder Certifications.
Experience Preferred:
- Occasional physical energy required, including bending, reaching, and standing for long periods of time.
Education Required:
- High School Diploma, Trade School, or GED with 2 years of related experience.
Additional Information:
- Schedule: 4/10 - 1st Shift (Mon-Thu) with four 10-hour days.
