Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Designer to support program initiatives. The ideal candidate will create innovative and practical mechanical and electro-mechanical concepts and designs for components, assemblies, tools, and products of varying complexity. The role involves working closely with engineering, vendors, manufacturing, quality teams, and customers to ensure design specifications are met and are free of layout process defects. Responsibilities may include assisting engineers in defining design standards and configurations and providing expert technical consultation regarding comprehensive design knowledge.

**Must have advanced CREO 7 experience to be considered.

  • Applying Computer-Aided Design (CAD) methodologies, theories, and techniques to design.
  • Reviewing engineering documents for compliance with engineering and military standards, accuracy in calculations, and dimensions.
  • Developing highly innovative concepts that satisfy functional and operational requirements.
  • Preparing complex design layouts, schematics, sketches, and drawing packages to military or ASME standards.
  • Ensuring CAD models are ready for modeling and simulation software integration.
  • Coordinating closely with systems engineers to meet contractual design requirements.
  • Evaluating completed drawings, specifications, and procedures for viability and integration of designs.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in tolerance analysis and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Advanced skills in CAD equipment and drafting techniques, including 3D modeling and manipulation of files.
  • In-depth knowledge of military drawings, specifications, MILSPEC/STD's, and production methods.
  • Familiarity with human factors in design.
  • Current Creo 7 experience is required.
  • Knowledge of MBD (Model-Based Definition) is a plus.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 9 years of design/drafting experience using Pro-E/Creo CAD systems.
  • Must have advanced Creo 7 experience.

Education Required:

  • An Associate Degree with an emphasis on engineering drafting/design or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum of 9 years of drafting and design experience, with at least 5 years focusing on advanced design concepts and applications.

Pay Range: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
