Computer Support Specialist (On-site)
Job Description
If you’re dependable, detail-oriented, and love solving computer and data challenges, this role puts you right in the center of a fast-paced, high-volume technical environment. You’ll support critical program functions, troubleshoot issues, and help staff and providers understand and use technology effectively.
Position Overview
The Computer Support Specialist will assist with data analysis, database maintenance, system support, and training for Department of Health staff, providers, and consumers. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask in a rapidly changing environment.
Job Duties
- Assist with program operations and daily technical functions
- Provide data analysis to support program reporting and decision-making
- Create and maintain data dictionaries
- Run and maintain data pipeline processes
- Map existing databases and perform routine database maintenance as directed
- Provide general computer support across departments
- Train and support Department of Health staff, providers, and consumers
- Troubleshoot issues and help users navigate systems efficiently
- Move between tasks as priorities and deadlines shift
Minimum Qualifications
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a high-volume office
- Able to multitask and shift between assignments quickly
- Strong understanding of complex databases or ability to learn new systems fast
- Comfortable communicating with internal teams and external consumers
- Motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or within a team
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years working in a professional IT-based environment
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, SharePoint, and Access
- Ability to enter, extract, and manage data within electronic databases
- Ability to work with diverse personalities in a team environment
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Strong interpersonal skills for clear communication with internal and external entities
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in Microsoft Office
- Experience creating and maintaining databases and mapping data structures
- Experience with SQL, Python, R, or Tableau
