Computer Support Specialists (Hybrid)
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Computer Support Specialist to assist with the day-to-day technology and data functions within the Bureau of EMS. The ideal candidate should be dependable, comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team. As part of the Data and Informatics Unit, you will support critical systems for EMS data reporting, tracking, and project management.
- Monitor daily data reporting from ePCR (electronic Patient Care Report) software vendors and track the quality of submitted data, addressing any errors.
- Track and manage paper PCR requests and submissions from EMS Program Agencies, both monthly and for data entry.
- Regularly monitor Paper PCR Portal Utilization.
- Track and support various technology projects within the Data and Informatics Unit.
- Maintain agency and regional reporting through the PubPal (Drupal) survey, supporting the analysis of 911 and IFT (Inter-Facility Transport) capabilities across NYS.
- Track regional state data flow statistics, identifying gaps and potential data quality concerns.
- Assist in the tracking and testing of validation rules for the updated NYS Data Standard and monitor training related to its implementation.
- Occasionally assist with event setup and management for Bureau of EMS activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Prior experience working with electronic databases and handling multiple priorities and shifting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the EMS system in New York State.
- Experience working with the NEMSIS (National Emergency Medical Services Information System) database.
- Previous experience within a New York State Department of Health or Emergency Management environment.
