Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Controller to join their team in a direct hire capacity. As the Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring financial compliance, overseeing the monthly financial close process, and managing various accounting functions. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong experience in financial management and supervisory roles to contribute to a dynamic organization.

What You Will Do:

• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and actively promote a positive safety culture.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, review and submit quarterly tax returns, and handle periodic state license registrations.
• Create and review General Ledger entries, monitor accounts receivable, and manage vendor payments.
• Oversee Work-In-Progress (WIP) preparation and coordinate with Operations during month-end.
• Coordinate the month-end close process, ensuring reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls and policies.
• Facilitate the completion of periodic audit requests.
• Manage and develop the performance of direct reports.
• Oversee accurate and compliant payroll processing, including associated activities and reports.
• Create forecasts, report variances, and analyze performance for management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You Need to Join Our Team:

• 3+ years of relevant financial experience, including supervisory roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Background in construction or project-based accounting is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and Sage software.
• Strong attention to detail.
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant, US) or CPA (Certified Professional Accountant, Canada) preferred.
• Ability to work varied and additional hours during closing and budgeting periods.
