Job Description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to join their team. This technical analyst position reports to the Operations Manager. The Data Analyst will be a team player responsible for compiling, analyzing, tracking program data, and reporting program information across multiple programs. Responsibilities also include developing and analyzing reports for energy efficiency measures and program performance, supporting program evaluation, updating planning tools, and developing forecast and projection reports.

  • Perform policy research on energy efficiency codes and standards at the state and federal levels for both current and future codes
  • Conduct a wide range of analyses, including program and portfolio performance, measure-level performance, project-level performance, and program-level impacts
  • Perform benefit-cost analysis for prospective energy efficiency measures and programs in accordance with New Jersey State Protocols and Coordinated Measure lists
  • Justify and document technical decisions related to research planning and data analysis
  • Report and present findings and actionable recommendations to internal teams and potentially the utility client
  • Collaborate with program management staff and clients to meet reporting and data requirements
  • Lead the development and review of program documents, applications, and energy savings models
  • Track and analyze internal key performance indicators and prepare supporting documentation for monthly client invoicing
  • Monitor metrics such as completed projects, rebate applications, enrollments, committed and spent funding, estimated savings, trade ally participation, inspection results, reporting accruals, and variance explanations
  • Develop and document data collection and tracking procedures as updates occur
  • Support program evaluation activities
  • Develop energy-based assumptions using regression or other data modeling techniques
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in program design and/or implementation for utility or state-funded energy efficiency or renewable energy programs
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Data Analytics, Physics, or Mathematics
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with expert-level Excel skills
  • Experience with Visual Basic or similar programming languages
  • Experience with relational database systems preferred
  • Experience working with state and federal energy codes and regulations
  • Familiarity with program evaluation processes and procedures
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking ability
  • Experience working with and analyzing large datasets
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work proactively
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Interest in developing new and existing skill sets in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Ability to write procedures and develop flowcharts; experience with Visio is a plus

Pay Range: $36.00 - $43.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
