Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Data Modeler to support the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise data infrastructure within a complex engineering and mission systems environment. This role will focus on creating and maintaining data models that support data pipelines, analytics, reporting, operational systems, and enterprise-wide data management strategies.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with data architecture, data governance, data integration, and large-scale data environments, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.

  • Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models to accurately represent organizational data
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment between business and technical needs
  • Create and maintain entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs), dimensional models, metadata repositories, and data documentation
  • Maintain centralized data dictionaries, naming conventions, coding standards, and data governance processes
  • Optimize data models and database structures to improve performance, scalability, reusability, and efficiency
  • Support data integration across multiple systems and environments
  • Perform reverse engineering of existing databases and data structures when necessary
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, reliability, and accessibility for reporting and analytics purposes
  • Implement data validation and quality control processes
  • Optimize data pipelines for speed, scalability, and operational performance
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and development teams to support reporting and business intelligence initiatives
  • Troubleshoot data infrastructure issues, monitor system performance, and support ongoing maintenance activities
  • Support configuration management, documentation, and change impact analysis for enterprise data architecture models
  • Assist with identifying Authoritative Sources of Truth (ASOT) and supporting integrations into cloud and reporting environments

Qualifications
US Citizenship is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field required
  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Engineering, Physical/Applied Sciences, or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience required
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience preferred
  • Strong experience designing and maintaining enterprise data models and process flows
  • Experience working with large datasets, complex systems, and enterprise data environments
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, normalization techniques, and metadata management
  • Experience with cloud-based data services such as AWS or Azure
  • Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working within Agile or Scrum environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing environments
  • Experience supporting development teams within technical organizations
  • Knowledge of Agile metrics and reporting processes
  • Experience with Scrum or Agile project management
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark preferred

Pay Range: $58.00 - $63.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
