HEPCO is seeking a senior-level database administrator to oversee our client's Microsoft SQL Server 2012-2022 databases and PostgreSQL. The successful candidate will possess a strong background, with at least 8+ years of hands-on experience managing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments in AWS using Redshift. Familiarity with Fivetran/HVR for data migration is essential, though experience with other logical replication tools is also valuable. The primary responsibility of this role is to handle the replication of data from various sources and ensure its seamless delivery to Redshift.

Skills Required:

• Database Administration: Efficiently manage and administer AWS-based databases, which include SQL Server, Oracle RDS, and Aurora Postgres, ensuring their high availability and data integrity.
• Proficiency with SQL 2014–2022 architecture.
• Capabilities to install, configure, and maintain the MS SQL Server clustered environment, including AlwaysOn features.
• Experience with both on-premise and cloud administration tasks, such as database health checks, DMV queries, index optimization, performance tuning, query optimization, maintenance plans, linked servers, etc.
• Proven logical replication experience using any tool.
• Adeptness with AWS migrations.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated capacity to think creatively and analytically in a challenging problem-solving environment. A self-starter attitude, proactive approach, and strong sense of ownership over projects/problems are crucial.

Education Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field OR Associates/High School Diploma with commensurate experience in the required skills.
