Our client is seeking a Sr. Designer to support key program initiatives within a dynamic and technically sophisticated environment. This individual will be responsible for creating innovative and practical mechanical and electro-mechanical concepts and designs for components, assemblies, tools, and products of varying complexity.

• Collaborate with engineering, vendors, manufacturing, quality, and customers to develop and refine design specifications.
• Ensure designs are free from layout process defects and comply with applicable standards and procedures.
• Assist engineers in defining design standards and configurations.
• Apply advanced Computer Aided Design (CAD) methodologies, theories, and techniques.
• Review completed engineering documentation for compliance with military and engineering standards.
• Provide expert technical consultation across various design initiatives.
• Prepare complex design layouts, schematics, sketches, and full drawing packages to ASME or equivalent military standards.
• Perform thorough evaluations of completed designs for producibility, fit, finish, material compatibility, and tolerance appropriateness.
• Ensure CAD models transition effectively to modeling and simulation platforms.
• Coordinate closely with systems engineering to meet contractual and functional design requirements.

Required Skills:

• Proficient in tolerance analysis and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong experience with 3D CAD modeling, including file manipulation.
• In-depth knowledge of military drawings, MILSPEC/STD requirements, and engineering documentation practices.
• Solid understanding of production methods and human factors engineering.
• Must be experienced with Creo 9.
• Model Based Definition (MBD) experience is a strong plus.

Experience Required:

• Minimum 9 years of design/drafting experience using Pro-E/Creo CAD systems.
• At least 5 years of hands-on involvement with advanced design concepts.

Education:

• Associate Degree in engineering drafting/design or equivalent training and experience.
• Additional nine years of related design and drafting experience required.
