Design Specialist Sr (On-site)
Job Description
Our client is seeking a Sr. Designer to support key program initiatives within a dynamic and technically sophisticated environment. This individual will be responsible for creating innovative and practical mechanical and electro-mechanical concepts and designs for components, assemblies, tools, and products of varying complexity.
- Collaborate with engineering, vendors, manufacturing, quality, and customers to develop and refine design specifications.
- Ensure designs are free from layout process defects and comply with applicable standards and procedures.
- Assist engineers in defining design standards and configurations.
- Apply advanced Computer Aided Design (CAD) methodologies, theories, and techniques.
- Review completed engineering documentation for compliance with military and engineering standards.
- Provide expert technical consultation across various design initiatives.
- Prepare complex design layouts, schematics, sketches, and full drawing packages to ASME or equivalent military standards.
- Perform thorough evaluations of completed designs for producibility, fit, finish, material compatibility, and tolerance appropriateness.
- Ensure CAD models transition effectively to modeling and simulation platforms.
- Coordinate closely with systems engineering to meet contractual and functional design requirements.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in tolerance analysis and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong experience with 3D CAD modeling, including file manipulation.
- In-depth knowledge of military drawings, MILSPEC/STD requirements, and engineering documentation practices.
- Solid understanding of production methods and human factors engineering.
- Must be experienced with Creo 9.
- Model Based Definition (MBD) experience is a strong plus.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 9 years of design/drafting experience using Pro-E/Creo CAD systems.
- At least 5 years of hands-on involvement with advanced design concepts.
Education:
- Associate Degree in engineering drafting/design or equivalent training and experience.
- Additional nine years of related design and drafting experience required.

Pay Range: $57.00 - $62.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
