Desktop Support Technician IV (On-site) Active secret clearance required
Job Description
Our client is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician IV to join their team. As a Desktop Support Technician IV, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive IT support, including desktop/laptop and some server support, to ensure the efficient operation of computer systems. Your primary duties will involve diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues, coordinating workstation upgrades, deploying new software platforms, and ensuring timely resolution of end-user problems.
- Provide desktop/laptop and some server IT support to end-users.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with individual or multiple computer systems to maintain proper functioning.
- Research, analyze, and provide hardware/software recommendations to users for purchasing necessary equipment.
- Resolve complex end-user hardware/software problems including network, desktop, printer, remote access software, VoIP, mobile devices, and MS Office, among others.
- Perform new computer configuration and coordinate workstation upgrade/replacement processes.
- Participate in the deployment of new software platforms.
- Track user requests for equipment, information, and problem reporting by opening cases and maintaining case histories.
- Verify with the customer that the problem has been resolved and close cases accordingly.
Skills Required:
- Experience with McAfee.
- Proficiency in MS OS; MS XP, Win 7, Win 10, MS Office Suite, MS Server 2003/2008.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated with excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and terminology.
- Familiarity with computer systems and local area networks.
- Active secret clearance
Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an IT support role.
Education Required:
- High School diploma or GED.
