Electrical Design Specialist II (On-site)

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and skilled Electrical Design Specialist II to join our client's team. This position is responsible for performing design and drafting work related to both electrical and mechanical aspects of electrical/electronic equipment. The role involves the design of wiring harness routing integration using schematic diagrams, chassis and housing design, as well as producing CAD models and drawings for electrical harness assemblies and electro-mechanical components. The successful candidate must be able to work within a data management system and contribute to system-level integration.

  • Design and draft electrical/electronic systems, focusing on wiring harness routing and integration.
  • Develop line replaceable unit (LRU) chassis and housing designs, ensuring overall system integration.
  • Create CAD models and detailed drawings for electrical harness assemblies, electro-mechanical components, and installation.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to ensure designs meet project requirements and standards.
  • Utilize Creo CAD software, including Creo Pro-Cable, to generate models and drawings.
  • Ensure designs align with AMSE Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Support the product development process in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with electrical/electronic systems.
  • Expertise in Creo CAD modeling (minimum 2 years), with strong design and drafting techniques.
  • Experience in the design, routing, and creation of drawings for wiring harness assemblies.
  • Proficient in Creo Pro-Cable for model and drawing generation.
  • Knowledge of AMSE Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to operate within a data management system for project documentation.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 2 additional years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and electro-mechanical engineering tools is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment is a plus.

Pay Range: $44.00 - $49.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
