Job Description
HEPCO is currently seeking an experienced Electrical/Electronics Engineer II to join our clients team and provide engineering support to our production engineering department. As an Electrical/Electronics Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in optimizing designs and wiring harnesses, as well as integrating new and updated electrical power and electronic systems, subsystems, and components.
- Optimize the design and wiring harnesses to integrate new and updated electrical power and electronic systems.
- Provide electrical/electronics engineering support to production engineering.
- Troubleshoot electrical/electronic systems and identify solutions.
- Develop system, subsystem, and component specifications and verify compliance.
- Manage low voltage (28Vdc) power distribution and utilize Solid State Power Controller/Programmable Power Controller.
- Handle vehicle signal management for sensor/transducer input/output signal management.
- Utilize video display experience to enhance system functionality.
- Work with electrical connectors and electrical cabling specifications.
- Familiarity with SAEJ1939 CANBus, Mil-Std 1553, 10/100 and Gigabit Ethernet Protocols.
- Make critical technical decisions that may impact project completion.
- Specify and design components based on system requirements and conduct modeling, simulation, analysis, or testing to ensure compliance.
- Prepare engineering documentation, including specifications, ICDs, design documents, and technical/test reports.
- Generate Change Notices, Engineering Change Proposals, and Engineering Orders as necessary.
- Monitor procurement, manufacturing, and delivery of components to ensure schedule adherence.
- Guide drafters and designers in creating clear and releasable documents.
Skills Required:
- Experience in vehicle wiring harness and cabling design.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical/electronic systems.
- Working knowledge of Visio Technical, Pro-E, Pro-Cable, and/or CADDS 5.
- Familiarity with system, subsystem, and component specification development.
- Strong understanding of low voltage (28Vdc) power distribution and management using Solid State Power Controller/Programmable Power Controller.
- Expertise in vehicle signal management for sensor/transducer input/output signals.
- Experience with video display systems.
- Knowledge of electrical connectors and electrical cabling specifications.

- Ability to make technical decisions with project impact.
- Strong documentation skills, including engineering documentation and technical data packages.

- Experience guiding drafters and designers in creating clear documents.
Education Required:
- Two (2) years of experience with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or no experience with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university, or equivalent engineering degree/experience.
