Electrical/Mechanical Systems Engineer (On-site)

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Principal Systems Engineer to support their Combat Vehicle and Naval Guns Product Lines. In this role, you’ll help drive the development of key defense systems, ensuring they meet critical requirements and contribute to national defense. - Lead or assist with requirements development and management.
- Must demonstrate experience with requirements management down to the component level.
- Develop and direct subsystem and component performance specifications, evaluating and deriving necessary requirements.
- Maintain requirements verification and compliance, producing supporting documentation.
- Perform requirements decomposition analysis to influence concept architectures and system characteristics.
- Lead architecture development for assigned systems, subsystems, and components.
- Develop and maintain interface requirements and design information for subsystems and components.
- Document concept design decisions and produce System/Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs) and capability assessments.
- Coordinate and facilitate formal decisions and trade studies to guide design and document results.
- Support cost, schedule, and risk monitoring for system implementation.
- Engage in Systems Engineering activities, influencing design and supporting program milestone reviews.
- Must demonstrate 3 years of experience using DOORS.
- Must be hands-on doing systems design.
Skills and Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Systems engineering experience, including performing requirements evaluation, derivation, and allocation.
- Expertise in translating requirements into viable concept design solutions within constraints.
- Experience developing and evaluating system architecture concepts.
- Ability to balance system design considerations like CONOPS, performance, constraints, and logistics.
- Experience planning, conducting, and documenting complex trade studies.
- Proficiency in generating System/Subsystem Design Descriptions and capability assessments per program guidelines.
Preferred:
- Experience in logical architecture development, including creating use cases.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including SysML and tools like Cameo.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
- Experience using DOORS for requirements management.
- INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
- Ability to guide and mentor junior engineers.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience.

Pay Range: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
