Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to focus on Tactical Systems, specifically within Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) programs. As a Systems Engineer, your primary duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Technical Planning and System Integration: Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation. Evaluate alternatives, considering cost, risk, supportability, and analyses. Ensure adherence to documented engineering processes.
  • Requirements Management: Develop and manage system-level requirements. Lead functional bench tests and qualification tests.
  • Engineering Support: Provide engineering support to factory operations and the repair of field returns.
  • Expertise Application: Apply your subject matter expertise in IFF design and testing to AIMS and RTCA standards.
  • Coding and Scripting: May involve coding in automated test scripting languages.
  • Leadership Responsibilities: Serve as a group or task lead, responsible for scheduling, assigning work, reporting progress, reviewing technical adequacy, and ensuring cost and schedule compliance. May generate estimates, bases of estimates, and support proposals.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Skills Required:

  • Domain Knowledge: Working knowledge of the IFF domain, including Interrogator and/or Transponder standards with practical experience in design, integration, verification, and validation.
  • Electrical Engineering: Proficiency in electrical engineering with the ability to perform testing and investigations in an electronics laboratory environment.

Skills Preferred:

  • Requirements Management: Experience with DOORS for requirements management.
  • Technical Standards: Familiarity with 45TS and VRG-1000 standards.

Experience Required:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Experience: At least fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience.
