Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Software Engineer to develop Software Defined Radio (SDR) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) applications within advanced government reference architectures. This role focuses on building multi-threaded, real-time, embedded, low-latency software in a Linux environment while working within established architecture guidelines such as GRA and/or Big Iron frameworks.

This is an opportunity to work on complex, mission-critical systems where performance, precision, and architecture compliance are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop SDR and DSP applications aligned to GRA and/or Big Iron architecture guidelines
  • Design and implement multi-threaded, real-time, embedded, low-latency software in Linux
  • Develop and maintain software using C/C++ and Python
  • Work within containerized environments using Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, and Helm
  • Implement Container Network Interfaces (CNI)
  • Integrate communication frameworks such as gRPC and Pub/Sub technologies (NATS, ActiveMQ, ZeroMQ, etc.)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure architecture and performance requirements are met

Required Skills

 
  • Strong experience developing multi-threaded, real-time, embedded software in Linux
  • Proficiency with C/C++ and Python
  • Experience with container technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, Helm
  • Knowledge of Container Network Interfaces (CNI)
  • Familiarity with gRPC and Pub/Sub frameworks (NATS, ActiveMQ, ZeroMQ, or similar)
  • Experience developing DSP and SDR applications
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of AMS-GRA, OMS-UCI, and/or Big Iron software frameworks
  • Experience working within government reference architectures

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
  • OR
  • Master’s Degree and a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience

Preferred Experience

  • Prior DoD work within Government Reference Architecture or Big Iron Architecture environments

Pay Range: $89.00 - $94.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
