Field Construction Engineer (On-site), non-IT role
Job Description
HEPCO Inc. is seeking Field Engineers with a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background to support a major infrastructure project at Newark Airport. This is a hands-on role working closely with project leadership and field teams to drive execution from planning through closeout.
Responsibilities:
- Review project plans and develop construction schedules (CPM)
- Coordinate subcontractors and support procurement/preconstruction activities
- Prepare work packages and assist with pre-construction meetings
- Oversee daily field operations with focus on MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, HVAC)
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and subcontractor communication
- Track project progress, schedules, and performance metrics
- Identify and mitigate field risks and changing site conditions
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, Port Authority, and regulatory requirements
- Support system commissioning, turnover, and project closeout
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- 3–5+ years of construction or infrastructure project experience
- Hands-on experience supporting MEP systems in the field
- Experience with Primavera P6 or CPM scheduling tools
- Knowledge of OSHA and federal safety standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Prior experience with Port Authority of NY/NJ projects (highly preferred)
- Experience in airport, aviation, or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Strong coordination skills in multi-contractor environments

Pay Range: $57.69 - $88.94 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
