Job Description

Our client is seeking an Energy Efficiency Specialist to oversee the execution of energy efficiency programs within a regulated utility environment. This role is highly project-focused, responsible for managing scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring compliance with program requirements and delivering a strong customer experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with energy efficiency and project management experience to lead complex initiatives that help commercial and industrial customers reduce energy consumption and costs.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of energy efficiency projects, including scope, schedule, and budget
  • Ensure projects meet all program requirements, including cost-effectiveness and compliance standards
  • Develop and manage processes for implementing energy efficiency programs
  • Interface with internal teams, vendors, customers, and consultants to ensure program success
  • Oversee QA/QC activities and validate energy savings measures and project performance
  • Manage vendor and contractor activities, including reviewing deliverables and processing invoices
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure high levels of satisfaction
  • Analyze project data and performance metrics to support reporting and forecasting
  • Provide monthly project status updates and financial forecasts
  • Conduct site visits and inspections as required
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of experience in energy efficiency programs, construction, or related field
  • OR 9+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience managing complex projects and milestone-based construction payments
  • Strong knowledge of energy efficiency measures such as HVAC, lighting, motors, and energy management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on process improvement
  • Ability to travel within New Jersey with a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vendor management and invoicing experience
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Professional Engineer (PE), or PMP certification

Pay Range: $62.00 - $67.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
