Job Description

HEPCO is currently seeking a qualified Facilities Project Engineer to fill a crucial role for our client. As a Facilities Project Engineer, you will be responsible for understanding electrical equipment, workspace requirements, and coordinating building facilities projects. If you have a strong background in Facilities Engineering and Project Management, and possess excellent communication and technical skills, we encourage you to apply.

  • Understand electrical equipment, work space requirements, and general power associated with office, laboratories, lighting layout, circuitry, and lighting controls.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of emergency systems, including generators, ATS, and lighting inverters.
  • Utilize CAD/Revit to model electrical needs, data runs, and associated notes/concerns.
  • Maintain building facilities, equipment, and machinery, ensuring adherence to applicable building codes and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with building contractors and perform project management for new and existing building commissioning and energy audit projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams to produce engineering solutions for large-scale and complex building projects.
  • Conduct site surveys of existing conditions to provide the basis for design activities.
  • Read and comprehend technical drawings and documents, effectively communicate ideas and instructions to others, and develop material lists, scopes of work, and equipment specifications.
  • Understand Facilities Management functions, processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Provide documentation for procurement purposes, ensuring accuracy and completeness before orders are placed.
  • Review invoices, verify accuracy of charges, and process for signature approval.
  • Recognize and address situations that could result in an unsafe working environment or pose a threat to human health and the environment.
  • Work closely with site leadership and Facilities Engineering on sustainability and retro-commissioning projects.
  • Collaborate with local project management, Plant Engineering, and contractors to achieve system commissioning or retro-commissioning goals.
  • Implement system optimization schemes to reduce site energy consumption.
  • Provide project management, including cost estimating, financial budgeting, oversight, implementation, coordination, and overall management.

Skills Required:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.

Experience Required:

  • 5 years of working experience in Facilities Engineering/Project Manager role or similar.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Facilities Management/Facilities Engineering or a similar engineering field.
