Federation Services Engineer (Remote)

Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Federation Services Engineer to support their IT infrastructure. As part of their team, the candidate will play a key role in maintaining and implementing federation services across both on-premise and cloud environments. You will work alongside application owners to extend the company’s Single Sign-On (SSO) solution to new and existing applications, collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), engineers, and customers. Additionally, you will provide leadership to junior staff as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional to apply their skills and grow in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot high-level networking issues and provide solutions for complex problems.
  • Manage and implement federation services across on-premise and cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate with application owners to extend the Single Sign-On (SSO) solution to new and existing applications.
  • Work with SMEs, engineers, and customers to ensure smooth integration of services.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Write technical documentation, including process documents, training materials, and formal compliance/audit documentation.
  • Support the maintenance and operation of systems infrastructure, hardware, and software, including analysis, planning, design, and upgrades.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of overall IT experience with a strong background in systems infrastructure, networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with SIEM tools, preferably Splunk.
  • Proficiency in Active Directory and LDAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in Federation (Single Sign-On) application implementation.
  • Knowledge of Ping Identity Products, such as PingFederate, PingOne, PingID, and PingAccess.
  • Experience with Federation logs troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations such as CMMC, FedRAMP, and others.
  • Knowledge of scripting or programming languages including PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Understanding of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and passwordless solutions.
  • General networking knowledge, including LAN, WAN, and global environments.
  • Experience with Azure/Entra ID, Entra Enterprise application configuration, and Identity Governance.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Exostar.

Education Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT), or an Engineering discipline is preferred. However, candidates with commensurate experience will also be considered. (Company guidelines: 14+ years of experience with a High School diploma, 10+ years with an Associate's degree, 8+ years with a Bachelor’s degree, 6+ years with a Master’s degree, 3+ years with a PhD).

Pay Range: $60.00 - $66.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
