Job Description

HEPCO is seeking an experienced MUMPS Developer to provide ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and support for the Tracking and Billing System (TABS), while also assisting with the design, development, testing, and implementation of new and existing system initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with MUMPS, InterSystems Cache', IRIS for Health, SOAP web services, healthcare data exchange standards, and legacy healthcare application development. This role requires close collaboration with project managers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to support mission-critical healthcare systems.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using MUMPS/Cache' programming
  • Provide ongoing support for the Tracking and Billing System (TABS)
  • Participate in project meetings and technical discussions impacting system functionality and performance
  • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable solutions
  • Gather, document, and implement technical requirements aligned with business objectives
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy application enhancements
  • Maintain existing system interfaces and develop integrations with internal and external systems
  • Develop and maintain SOAP-based web services using WSDL
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and implement new technologies
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare data exchange standards and best practices
  • Create and maintain technical documentation

Required Qualifications

MUMPS Development

  • 84 months of experience developing and implementing applications using MUMPS in a healthcare environment

Core MUMPS Programming

  • 24 months of experience using MUMPS (excluding post-relational Cache' objects and related technologies)

SOAP / WSDL Web Services

  • 24 months of experience designing, developing, and maintaining SOAP web services using WSDL in Cache'

Project Team Collaboration

  • 24 months of experience working with project managers and technical teams to support legacy system enhancements and adopt new technologies

Healthcare Data Exchange Standards

  • 24 months of experience working with healthcare standards, including:
    • HIPAA transactions (ASC 835, ASC 837, etc.)
    • HL7
    • NIEM
    • Other interoperability standards

Cache' / IRIS for Health

  • 24 months of experience developing applications using InterSystems Cache' (version 2018 or later) or IRIS for Health

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting New York State healthcare systems
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, billing, claims processing, or reimbursement systems
  • Experience with system integration and enterprise interfaces
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid environments
