Our client, a regional transportation agency, is seeking a part-time MAPS Analyst to support its Traffic Engineering data systems team. This team develops GIS-based tools and dashboards that track traffic conditions and the impacts of construction activity. These tools also provide real-time updates to major navigation platforms like Google Maps, Waze, and Apple Maps.

• Support the development and maintenance of GIS applications for traffic and construction monitoring
• Manage data integrations with navigation platforms to ensure accurate public information
• Develop dashboards and tools for internal use by operational leaders
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure tool effectiveness
• Follow Agile development practices and participate in regular planning sessions

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in GIS/Mapping development, demonstrated through three relevant projects
• Experience developing and maintaining GIS applications in the transportation sector
• Proficiency with Google Maps, ArcGIS, and similar geospatial tools
• Experience working with navigation platforms such as Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Waze
• Proficiency with JIRA for task tracking and collaboration
• Strong programming skills in languages commonly used for GIS, such as Python, JavaScript, C#, or R
• Familiarity with web development (HTML, CSS, and frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue.js)
• Experience with version control systems such as Git, and development environments
• Understanding of web services including RESTful APIs and SOAP
• Knowledge of UI/UX best practices
• 7+ years of total experience in application development
• Proven success in delivering and supporting software applications
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Knowledge of the transportation industry and relevant compliance or operational standards
