Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Information Assurance Specialist to support compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) protocols. The position will involve collaborating with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) approvals for multiple systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing System Security Plans, addressing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and assessing security controls to ensure program compliance.
*Must have an active secret clearance to be considered.
- Support the RMF compliance program in accordance with NISPOM/DAAPM, JSIG, ICD 503, STIGs, and NIST publications.
- Work with the ISSM to maintain system ATOs by following RMF guidelines.
- Enforce and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs) and POA&Ms.
- Audit and assess system security controls for assigned programs.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams and other security disciplines.
Required Skills:
- IAM Level I certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months) in accordance with DoD 8570.1M requirements.
- High level of personal motivation and adaptability in security environments.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Basic understanding of networks, operating systems, and computer functions.
- Coursework in technical disciplines like cybersecurity, systems administration, or programming.
- Active Secret Clearance
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of system functions, security policies, and operational security measures.
- Experience in auditing and certifying compliance on systems (Windows, Linux, Network Devices).
- Familiarity with compliance and vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus, SCAP, ACAS, and SCC.
- Experience developing A&A documentation and delivering IA training material.
Preferred Experience:
- Working knowledge of information security technology and compliance processes.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree.
- IAM Level I certification commensurate with DoD 8570.1M requirements.
