Information System Security Officer (ISSO) No C2C, must have an active secret clearance
Job Description
Our client is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to play a pivotal role in maintaining the security and integrity of their information systems. As an ISSO, you will support adherence to rigorous Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance programs and ensure Authority to Operate (ATO) approvals for various systems. You'll collaborate closely with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to enforce security plans, assess system controls, and uphold cybersecurity efforts throughout the RMF process.
Skills Required:
- IAM Level I certification as per DoD 8570.1M requirements (or ability to obtain certification within 6 months)
- Strong motivation and initiative to adapt to an ever-changing security environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with IA team members, IT personnel, and program stakeholders
- Proficiency in maintaining security certification and accreditation documents
- Experience in continuous monitoring and implementing security control standards
- Advanced understanding of computer networks, operating systems, and cybersecurity prAbility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.inciples
- Coursework in a technical discipline (e.g., programming, systems administration, cybersecurity)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Skills Preferred:
- Previous experience as an ISSO or in relevant cybersecurity roles
- Knowledge of system functions, security policies, and technical safeguards
- Experience with auditing and certifying compliance of various systems
- Familiarity with Assessment and Authorization (A&A) procedures
- Ability to develop and deliver IA-related briefings and training material
- Proficiency in compliance and vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, SCAP)
- Capability to translate operational requirements into technical architectures
- Experience conducting self-inspections
Experience Required:
- IAM Level I certification per DoD 8570.1M requirements (or ability to obtain certification within 6 months)
- Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of related work experience OR 8 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
