We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to assist in evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, business processes, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a background in customer operations, call center compliance, and internal auditing, with a strong understanding of risk management and financial operations. This role involves conducting audits, performing walkthroughs, assessing controls across key business processes, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

• Perform audits of key processes and activities to evaluate the effectiveness of business objectives.
• Conduct walkthroughs and testing of financial and operational internal controls.
• Evaluate customer call center adherence to policies, compliance, and procedures.
• Assist in evaluating internal controls and completing assessment activities, including reviewing financial reporting risk.
• Identify appropriate General Ledger accounts and systems tied to processes, controls, and control gaps.
• Conduct tests of controls and operating assessments to ensure operating effectiveness.
• Assist in researching control gaps or failed tests to assess the level of deficiency.
• Support the completion of SOX 302 certification activities.
• Coordinate activities with third-party auditors to complete the attestation of internal controls.
• Complete operational, compliance, and technology audits using data analytics and continuous monitoring.
• Develop and execute audit plans, recommending solutions to resolve control gaps identified during audits.

Required Qualifications:

• At least 5+ years of experience in internal auditing, with a focus on operational, financial, and compliance audits.
• Knowledge of customer call center processes and experience within a quality compliance environment.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Business Administration) is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, risk management, and internal controls.
• Experience with SOX 302 compliance activities.
• Customer operations field experience is a plus.
• Prior experience in the utility industry is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and manage audit projects remotely.
