Job Description

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join their contracts and grants team at their main office in Albany, NY. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and can manage multiple priorities with efficiency and professionalism.

The selected candidate will support the Associate Director of Contracts and Grants in a wide range of administrative, legal, and grant-related functions. This is a great opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to grow their skills in a public sector or legal-adjacent environment.

  • Assist the Associate Director in improving unit productivity and workflow
  • Organize and maintain grant-related files and systems to support efficient operations
  • Review and edit letters, reports, and other documents for accuracy and clarity
  • Support the review, preparation, and organization of contracts, grants, and solicitations
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, and monitor multiple shared email inboxes
  • Provide general support for contractual and administrative functions
  • Conduct legal and legislative research as needed
  • Assist with special projects and tasks assigned by the team
  • Serve as backup to the Contracts Assistant when required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred (recent graduates are encouraged to apply)
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience (office or administrative work preferred)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Duration: approximatley 2 years

Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
