Mechanical Engineer (On-site)
Job Description
Our client is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This role focuses on the design, development, and analysis of mechanical products, including ammunition handling systems, gun systems, missile launchers, mechanisms, and other advanced devices. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting technical analysis, testing, and evaluation of complex engineering problems. You will ensure that technical designs comply with engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
- Research, plan, analyze, design, and develop mechanical products, such as ammunition handling systems, gun systems, missile launchers, and other high-tech devices.
- Apply advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices to develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
- Perform technical analysis, testing, and evaluation of moderately complex engineering issues using specialized equipment and computer programs.
- Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documents, models, and test results to ensure compliance with engineering standards and military specifications.
- Conceptualize, create, and analyze designs to ensure engineering projects meet technical, cost, quality, and performance requirements.
- Develop and write technical documentation, and provide revisions to existing documents, while also contributing to technical papers and presentations.
- Lead technical discussions, provide consultation and guidance to specialized engineering groups and technical personnel, and present technical findings to customers.
- Perform technical analysis, calculations, and simulations to solve complex engineering problems.
- Participate in formal technical reviews, prepare proposals, and defend technical results and recommendations.
- Maintain external contacts with key experts, government agencies, academic institutions, and industry leaders to stay up-to-date on new developments.
- Advise senior management on new developments and technical progress and ensure compliance with safety standards to maintain a safe work environment.
Skills Required:
- Strong mechanical and structural design skills, with the ability to assess potential failure points under given load conditions.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in performing basic Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Ability to develop concepts and conduct trade studies for decision support.
- Knowledge of engineering material properties and limitations.
- Strong understanding of part fabrication, assembly processes, and cost minimization during the design phase.
- Proficiency with CREO or similar CAD tools for part models, assemblies, and drawings.
- Experience with checking drawings, performing tolerance studies, and a solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Experience Required:

6 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 4 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 2 years of experience.
Education Required: B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
