Noise/Vibration/Acoustic Engineer (On-site)
Job Description
Work at the most complex mass transportation system in the world and be a key contributor as Noise/Vibration/Acoustic Engineer.
- The Consultant shall perform various tasks for capital projects related to the following:
- Prepare, review, and implement construction noise control and monitoring plans of construction projects.
- Design and oversee the implementation of construction noise and vibration control measures.
- Conduct acoustical and vibration measurements.
- Analyze data for environmental noise and vibration, HVAC noise, reverberation times, reflection pattern, and sound isolation.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in physics or an engineering degree in electrical, mechanical, or acoustical engineering; or
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus nine (9) to eleven (11) years' experience; or
- A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent plus any combination of college education and/or experience to make up the equivalent of nine (9) to eleven (11) years' experience and education combined.
- With a bachelor's degree the qualified candidate will have five (5) to seven (7) years' experience in noise control engineering or construction noise analysis demonstrating a solid understanding noise control.
- Relevant experience reviewing local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting requirements regarding noise, acoustics and vibration.
- Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of noise and acoustics.
- Experience with acoustical modeling software and technical tools to support acoustics/noise analyses and recommendations.
- Familiarity with acoustic measurement practices, acoustic software tools, and instrumentation.
- Experience with providing acoustical solutions that address sound isolation, room acoustics, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) noise and system noise.
- Experience with preparation of noise and vibration studies within a transportation environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must possess and demonstrate clear and concise written skills.
Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
