Our client is seeking a Senior-level Occupational Safety Specialist to support their operations in Radford, Virginia. This role plays a key part in maintaining and enhancing workplace safety, ensuring compliance, and promoting a proactive safety culture across the site.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in OSHA compliance and safety best practices.
• Collaborate closely with operations and maintenance teams to drive a culture of 100% safety compliance.
• Proactively identify and mitigate safety risks before they lead to incidents.
• Lead efforts to reduce recordable injury rates through teamwork, training, and effective safety practices.
• Support and manage a variety of safety-related programs, including but not limited to:
  • Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO)
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Hot Work Permits
  • Electrical Safety
  • Machine Guarding
  • Walking/Working Surfaces
  • Risk Assessments
  • Department of Defense (DoD) regulations relevant to Army contractors

• Communicate and disseminate safety knowledge and updates to all levels of the workforce.

Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

• Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations.
• Proven ability to conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and safety-related applications.
• Comfortable providing hands-on, on-site safety support in an industrial environment.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
