Job Description

Are you a hands-on technician who enjoys troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving production equipment? Our client is seeking a Production Equipment Technician to join their team in South Windsor, CT. This role is critical to ensuring production equipment operates at maximum availability and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

In this position, you will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment, including systems used for archival storage and retrieval of computer-generated data. You will interpret technical manuals and service bulletins to develop effective troubleshooting plans and support continuous operations.

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and troubleshoot production equipment issues
  • Respond promptly to Technical Support calls to ensure timely resolution
  • Log all support calls, labor time, and parts usage accurately in the technician tracking system, such as FIIX
  • Install electrical wiring and controls for production-related equipment
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware related to production equipment
  • Relocate production equipment and support new equipment installations as directed by management
  • Track parts usage and provide inventory level recommendations to management and the Inventory Analyst
  • Contribute to a positive work environment and promote teamwork and morale
  • Provide feedback to leadership related to the performance and development of junior technicians
  • Maintain compliance with maintenance records in accordance with OSHA and EPA requirements
  • Consistently follow all safety procedures and support the use of equipment tracking databases

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational education preferred
  • Vendor or equipment repair certification preferred but not required for at least one insertion platform, such as Blue Crest, Bowe, or Buhrs
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a production environment with hands-on equipment repair experience
  • Proven proficiency in the operation and repair of high-speed production equipment
  • Ability to take direction and work effectively under time constraints
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the assigned shift
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move 25 pounds or more throughout the shift

Work Schedule
Shift: EWD - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and alternating Wednesday
6:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Compensation

  • Salary range: $49,920–$54,080 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
