Production Equipment Technician (On-Site)
Job Description
Are you a hands-on technician who enjoys troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving production equipment? Our client is seeking a Production Equipment Technician to join their team in South Windsor, CT. This role is critical to ensuring production equipment operates at maximum availability and reliability in a fast-paced environment.
In this position, you will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment, including systems used for archival storage and retrieval of computer-generated data. You will interpret technical manuals and service bulletins to develop effective troubleshooting plans and support continuous operations.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and troubleshoot production equipment issues
- Respond promptly to Technical Support calls to ensure timely resolution
- Log all support calls, labor time, and parts usage accurately in the technician tracking system, such as FIIX
- Install electrical wiring and controls for production-related equipment
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware related to production equipment
- Relocate production equipment and support new equipment installations as directed by management
- Track parts usage and provide inventory level recommendations to management and the Inventory Analyst
- Contribute to a positive work environment and promote teamwork and morale
- Provide feedback to leadership related to the performance and development of junior technicians
- Maintain compliance with maintenance records in accordance with OSHA and EPA requirements
- Consistently follow all safety procedures and support the use of equipment tracking databases
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational education preferred
- Vendor or equipment repair certification preferred but not required for at least one insertion platform, such as Blue Crest, Bowe, or Buhrs
- Minimum of three years of experience in a production environment with hands-on equipment repair experience
- Proven proficiency in the operation and repair of high-speed production equipment
- Ability to take direction and work effectively under time constraints
- Ability to stand for the duration of the assigned shift
- Ability to lift, carry, and move 25 pounds or more throughout the shift
Work Schedule
Shift: EWD - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and alternating Wednesday
6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Compensation
- Salary range: $49,920–$54,080 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
