Job Description

Our client, a leader in the defense manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Engineer Technologist – Senior Principal to support advanced naval weapon systems in Louisville, Kentucky. This role offers an opportunity to drive innovation in machining and production processes while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

This position is well-suited for a seasoned engineering professional who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is passionate about process optimization, equipment integration, and manufacturing excellence.

  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction on complex machining and manufacturing projects
  • Develop new machining processes and improve existing ones, including tooling and fixture design
  • Work closely with design, quality, and production teams to ensure smooth integration of machining operations
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to equipment, product quality, and production performance
  • Mentor engineers and technicians and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for processes and analysis
  • Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and manage capital investment implementation
  • Ensure technical compliance with company policies, industry standards, and customer requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related technical field
  • Strong expertise in machining processes, tooling, materials, and equipment
  • Proficient in Siemens NX for design and CNC programming
  • Strong project management capabilities and the ability to meet deadlines and quality standards
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures and inspection standards
  • Experience in planning and scheduling production timelines
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project)
  • Experience with capital project planning and factory or equipment setup

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in a machining and manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the defense industry or government contracting
  • Ability to program complex 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills and multi-axis vertical/horizontal lathes
  • Experience developing or editing CNC post-processors
  • Background in quoting, creating ROMs, and BOEs
  • PMP certification or experience managing technical programs or projects
  • Familiarity with multi-head CNC machine configurations

Pay Range: $72.00 - $77.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
