Principal Real-Time Embedded Firmware Engineer (Hybrid)
Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading and executing various tasks across the software development lifecycle. From requirements analysis to software architecture, design, implementation, and verification testing, you will be instrumental in enhancing project/system functionality and ensuring adherence to engineering principles and practices.
- Plan, lead, and execute efforts to architect, design, develop, maintain, and upgrade embedded product software.
- Mentor less experienced software engineers to enhance their capabilities in software development, testing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Systems.
- Ensure technical approach aligns with established engineering principles and practices.
- Meet cost and schedule targets, ensuring that product outcomes meet customer needs and quality requirements.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in object-oriented software architecture, software design, and C++ coding.
- Experience in unit testing of embedded software with knowledge of requirements-based software verification and traceability.
- Familiarity with version control and issue tracking tools.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in real-time embedded software development.
- Experience in requirements analysis, software design, implementation (code and unit test), and authoring of formal deliverable documentation.
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
