Job Description

Our client is a leading innovator in the defense industry, dedicated to developing cutting-edge technologies that protect national security and enhance military capabilities. They are seeking a talented Principal Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team and contribute to the design and development of advanced combat vehicle and naval gun systems.

Position Description: As a Principal Systems Engineer with our client, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects that have a significant impact on national defense. You will support various aspects of systems engineering, including requirements development, subsystem and component performance analysis, architecture development, and interface design. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of professionals and contribute to the success of critical defense programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or support requirements development and management.
  • Develop and manage subsystem and component performance specifications.
  • Support requirements decomposition analysis and concept architecture development.
  • Lead architecture development for assigned systems, subsystems, and components.
  • Coordinate and facilitate formal decisions and trade studies.
  • Support cost, schedule, and risk management activities.
  • Coordinate Systems Engineering activities to influence design.
  • Support vehicle-level Systems Engineering activities and milestone reviews.

Skills Required:

  • Experience with DOORS requirements management tool.
  • Strong systems engineering experience, including requirements analysis and derivation.
  • Ability to develop architecture concepts and evaluate alternatives.
  • Proficiency in conducting complex trade studies and generating design documentation.
Experience Required:
  • Experience in supporting requirements development and management.
  • Proficiency with DOORS requirements management tool.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 6+ years of relevant experience.
