Principal Systems Engineer (On-site)
Job Description

As a member of our client's Systems Engineering team, you’ll collaborate with a diverse group of professionals who design systems and products supporting military enhancements, national security, and the protection of critical infrastructure.
Must have prior military application to qualify.
- Lead or assist in developing and managing system requirements.
- Develop subsystem and component performance specifications by evaluating and deriving necessary requirements.
- Maintain requirements verification, compliance, and supporting documentation.
- Conduct requirements decomposition analysis to drive concept architectures and system characteristics.
- Facilitate the development of system, subsystem, and component architectures.
- Maintain interface requirements and design data for systems and subsystems.
- Document design choices and generate System/Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs) and capability assessments.
- Conduct formal decisions and trade studies to document results.
- Monitor cost, schedule, and risk management.
- Influence and direct Systems Engineering activities to shape the overall design.
- Support vehicle-level Systems Engineering activities and program milestone reviews.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- Strong experience in systems engineering, including requirements evaluation, derivation, allocation, and translating requirements into design solutions.
- Ability to develop architecture concepts and assess alternatives.
- Knowledge of balancing system design with performance, constraints, and logistics.
- Experience planning, conducting, and documenting complex trade studies.
- Proficient in generating System/Sub-System Design Descriptions and capability assessments.
Preferred:
- Experience in logical architecture development, including use case design.
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience, including familiarity with SysML methodology and tools like Cameo.
- Familiarity with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
- Experience using DOORS requirements management tools.
- INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
- Experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required, with a minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience.

Pay Range: $63.00 - $73.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
