Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Maintainability Engineer to join our clients team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, defining, and analyzing Line Replaceable Units/Modules or Shop Replaceable Units. You will perform calculations, technical analysis, evaluations, and make recommendations to improve the supportability and life cycle cost of systems.
- Identify and define Line Replaceable Units/Modules or Shop Replaceable Units for which analysis needs to be performed.
- Calculate Maintenance Ratio, Mean Time To Repair and Max Time To Repair. (Experience with SLICwave is desired.)
- Perform Level of Repair Analysis as required to determine the most cost-effective alternatives for performing maintenance tasks over the life of the end item or equipment. (Experience with Opus is desired.)
- Perform maintenance task analysis, defining maintenance task steps, equipment, tools, times, and personnel requirements. (Experience with SLICwave is desired.)
- Recommend changes to designs based on analysis performed to improve the supportability and life cycle cost of the system.
- Perform technical analysis, calculations, and evaluation of results to solve complex engineering problems by creating or using computer programs, models, or simulations.
- Prepare and present project technical results, recommendations, and solutions to internal and external customers.
- Develop and write technical documentation, make revisions to existing documentation, and provide input to technical papers or presentations.
Skills Required:
- Ability to identify Line Replaceable Units/Modules or Shop Replaceable Units.
- Capable of calculating Maintenance Ratio, Mean Time To Repair, and Max Time To Repair.
- Skilled in performing Level of Repair Analysis.
- Expertise in performing maintenance task analysis.
- Comprehensive understanding of designs and can provide design influence.
Experience Required:

Education Required:
- B.S. degree in a relevant technical discipline plus 8 years relevant experience; or a M.S. degree and 6 years relevant experience; or a Ph.D. and 3 years relevant experience.
