Job Description

We are actively recruiting a Print Operator to join the Production Operations team at our client’s facility in Edgewood, NY. This is a full-time, on-site direct hire role.

Reporting to the Supervisor – DDS Operations, the Print Operator is responsible for operating cut-sheet and high-speed printers, along with perfect binding and stitching equipment, to produce high-quality documents for internal and external clients. This role works closely with the DDS Print Coordinator, Production Control Specialists, and shift supervisor to ensure all print jobs are completed accurately, efficiently, and in priority order.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate cut-sheet and high-speed printers to produce print jobs as assigned
  • Review and assign jobs to appropriate printers using the Canon Workflow System
  • Prioritize print work in coordination with the Print Coordinator, Supervisor, and Production Control team
  • Continuously monitor print quality and immediately report issues to management
  • Verify print request data against actual output and job samples to ensure accuracy
  • Notify Print Coordinator upon job completion for proper production tracking
  • Stamp print requests for accountability and accurate reporting
  • Troubleshoot printer and file issues and contact vendors (Canon, Ricoh, Bell & Howell, Horizon, etc.) when needed
  • Log all service calls per DDS procedures
  • Support additional print room duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; some college preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in a print production environment
  • Experience with Canon or Ricoh printers preferred
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Self-starter with strong initiative
  • Comfortable reviewing printed materials for quality control
  • Flexible to work overtime, including weekends, when needed
  • Willingness to learn and operate various print room equipment

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (2nd Shift)

Compensation

  • Annual salary range: $37,086 – $44,928 (Depending on experience and qualifications)
