Production Operations Manager (On-Site)

The Manager of Production Operations reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of printing and production in a high-volume operations environment. This role manages Operations Supervisors across multiple shifts, ensuring productivity, quality, and both client and employee satisfaction. The Manager plays a key role in turning strategic goals into day-to-day execution, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture centered on service and teamwork.
- Develop and implement strategies that enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality (PEQ).
- Manage departmental expenses, including commodities, labor, and discretionary spending.
- Create and execute capacity plans to support client commitments and meet or exceed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Establish, communicate, and continually refine department and individual KPIs.
- Demonstrate technical expertise in print equipment, relevant technologies, and product mix to maximize machine utilization and uptime.
- Provide performance feedback and support talent development through regular coaching.
- Promote company values, vision, and quality standards while maintaining a strong commitment to operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 3–5 years of management experience in a fast-paced environment, including 1–2 years in print/mail, production, or manufacturing.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours during peak periods or when handling critical client or facility events, including weekends or holidays.
- Strong leadership presence and self-starter mindset with the ability to motivate teams in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
- Proven experience improving workflows, achieving KPIs, and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, linking files, charts/graphs).
Schedule
Mid-Shift Manager: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM (flexibility required during training and peak production times).
Compensation
- Salary range: $70,000–$75,000 annually, based on experience, skills, and education.
- 10% shift differential.
