Job Description

HEPCO is looking for a Project Administrator to support Construction Phase and Processes of Various Systems, Communications and Electrical Capital Projects in NY.

Normal Work Location and Schedule:
2 Broadway or Field Offices within the 5 Boroughs
Monday-Friday 8 am-5pm (weekends and nights when necessary)
Technical function 50%, Administrative function 50%.
Field location 10%, Office location 90%.

Qualifications Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or Architecture; AND Minimum of ten (10) years of engineering support, technical or construction experience with a minimum of two (2) years in a managerial/supervisory capacity.

Special Skills/Training Requirements:
  • Knowledge of project management or engineering processes with practical experience of construction administration and field operations.
  • Knowledge of project management software preferred.
  • Proficiency in the English language with ability to clearly write and verbally communicate.
  • Managerial/supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of engineering guidelines, specifications and standards of performance.
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytic problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and ensure timely completion/closeout of assignments.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • The individual will provide his/her own safety shoes, which meets company guidelines and specifications.
  • The individual must either have or willing to get OSHA 30-hour certification at his/her own expense.

Description of Work:
  • Assist Project CEO's (Construction Manager) Office with high-level supervisory and technical support services with various systems, communications and electrical construction capital projects.
  • Manage the progress of capital projects' goals by attending project coordination meetings with stakeholders, following up on action items and documenting progress as required.
  • Manage the coordination of field visits, surveys and inspections.
  • Coordinate daily project management activities for the Project CEO (Construction Manager) according to MTA C&D Project Management Procedure/Guidelines.
  • Oversee and distribute daily work assignments.
  • Support the documentation of projects with project management software.
  • Review all Daily Inspection Reports.
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance and quality control.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocol.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager.
